The pool closing season is always a sad time as it is the beginning of the cold season. Aquajoy Spa And Pool will put your pool away for the cold months with our proven closing technique ( how proven? 38 years without an underground break). Aquajoy will lower the water level by about 18 “, this varies with the type of pool and the level of the returns/inlets. We use a volume blower, to remove the water from your equipment and the pool lines. We then blow and/or vacuum anti-freeze (nontoxic -50 below) into the whole system pushing out any remaining water. The lines and skimmers are then plugged in tightly. At the equipment we remove all the plugs and check for antifreeze, then the plugs are reinserted. Filter plugs and pump plugs are stored in the pump for the season. Gas and electricity are turned off. The pool cover is now installed and you are ready for winter.
Water-bag Covers
These covers are inexpensive and will keep your pool clean. Keep 1-2″ of water on the cover, pump the rest off. This will stop the weight of the water from pulling on the cover. NEVER use pavers or heavy objects with sharp edges that may fall into your pool causing a leak to hold the cover in place. Buy the water bags and replace them as needed. Replace the cover if it develops a hole, dirt can get in and the water you pump off may be coming from the pool under the cover.
Spa Covers
Spa covers should be in good condition and fit tight around the out side of the shell. If the inside core is broken, replace it before the winter. The cover and snow will end up in the tub. Straps can help keep the cover from blowing off. The cover should be cleaned and covered with a tarp to protect it and the spa. In the winter GENTLY remove any large build up of snow.
Mesh or Solid Mesh Covers
A mesh cover will provide safety and security to your closed pool. Unlike waterbag covers, these covers will not blow into the pool. They will support pets, children, and even adults that may wander on them. These covers cost more but are a great investment as they last for 15 years and give you peace of mind that your pool and loved ones are secure during the off-season. In the summer while you are away on vacation these covers can be quickly placed on the pool to keep debris and neighbors out of it! The mesh comes in several grades from standard to heavy-duty, with various colors available also!
